Gloria Mundi stages encounters between people and animals at monumental scale, blurring the line between the ordinary and the mythical. Towering creatures appear in familiar settings, prompting moments of awe, confrontation, or quiet coexistence.

By unsettling our sense of scale and hierarchy, the works invite us to reconsider the significance of the animals that share our world.

The Frog in the Night-Time

Inspired by the bayou, by romantic painters, and by everyone’s favourite amphibians, this painting shows a Caspar David Friedrich-esque encounter with an enormous frog.

Le Gardien

When I visited the Camargue - a unique region of wetlands in Southern France, I was fortunate enough to see flamingos in the wild. The untamed expanse of reeds and waterways inspired me to make this painting.

Vixen Tor

Dartmoor is an otherworldy place, and the perfect setting for an otherworldy encounter. Amidst the granite tors, a curious vixen pays a visit to a wild camper.

Thy Solitary Walk

A celebration of the un-sung rulers of the Night: Moths. The subject of this painting is an Emperor Moth, drawn to the lamp of a lighthouse.
